Doesn’t the picture above make you think of summer? Drinks in the garden, festivals..... it’s all about to start.
When it comes to music festivals, Evolution on NewcastleGateshead Quayside has become one of the must-see events in the North East. Following the success of Plan B at last year’s event, we take a closer look at two of this year’s acts - the hugely successful Rizzle Kicks and local rising star Lulu James. Coinciding with the Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday, it could well be quite a show.
Coming to the Corbridge Festival this summer are The Quireboys. Frontman, and ex-Corbridge resident, Spike, chats to us about the band’s reunion, living in Corbridge and his remarkable solo project.
Our Real Ale Trail this month also heralds the start of festivals of another sort - beer festivals. With real ale becoming increasingly popular and entering the mainstream in a way it has never done before, we celebrate some of the pubs and breweries in our region which are keen to support this very British tipple.
As well as drinks, we also have a strong focus on food this month. We have some incredible food reviews, including a suggestion for a Michelin star, as well as great ideas for places to eat out in our region.
Ab Fab’s Jennifer Saunders gives us five minutes to talk about the continuing popularity of this highly successful, and clever, comedy as well as her enduring friendship with Dawn French.
Chameleon-like Jason Donovan also graces our pages this month, explaining how he successfully manages to combine his continuing singing career with TV work. He’s come a long way since Neighbours.
As ever, we include all our regular features and segments, covering everything from health to film and calling at all stops in between. We hope you enjoy every single page. See you in June...
