West End musical Jersey Boys at the Sunderland Empire was an absolute triumph from beginning to end.
The musical tells the story of four boys, from the wrong side of the tracks, who formed iconic ‘60s band The Four Seasons.
This show is fast-paced and fires through hit after hit in quick succession. Songs such as Begin’, Walk Like A Man, My Eyes Adored You and Big Girls Don’t Cry tells the rollercoaster story of the band’s ups and downs and their fight with their personal demons.
Dayle Hodge’s performance as Frankie Valli was phenomenal. His voice was superb and his energy throughout was exceptional.
This show, with its smooth set changes, clever graphics and amazing vocal performances is as slick and polished as the smartly dressed Jersey Boys themselves. By far, one of the best shows I’ve seen in a long time.
